You can change your marketing strategy and your offers and still reap the rewards of the Remix. Don't believe me? Keep reading to learn about my clients experience.

I met Colie when I was a guest on her podcast the Business-First Creatives and we talked all things content repurposing. During our interview, she confessed to having worked with an agency previously to repurpose her podcast but that they had closed and she’d never found anyone who offered a similar service.

This led to Colie booking my Remix service to repurpose interviews she’d done on other shows.

Who is Colie James?

Before we dive into how the Remix worked for her, let me introduce Colie.

She’s a client experience and system strategist who helps business owners streamline their backend systems to work automatically, so they can focus on what they love doing. Colie is all about efficiency which you know I love. Her marketing strategy focuses on her podcast, blog and email. Not your typical social media based strategy.

She Had A Marketing Gap

Before purchasing the Remix, Colie had already been running her show for years.

At the time, she was releasing two episodes a week, one interview and one solo, then repurposing that content for social media.

But there was a gap.

She knew she wasn’t talking enough about her services, particularly her VIP Day. Her content wasn’t speaking directly to the transformation she offers her clients and she knew it.

How She Uses her Remix

The Remix is all about taking your existing content, whether it’s podcast episodes, reels, or blog posts and remixing them into fresh content ideas that resonate with your audience across different platforms.

Colie provided me with a mix of solo episodes on her show, client case studies and interviews she’d done on other people’s podcasts.

The interviews on other shows produced some of the best content ideas.

When you’re on someone elses show, you talk about your services so much differently than in a solo episode.

This gave me the chance to highlight her offers in ways she hadn’t been doing in her own content which allowed her to tap into new angles and create content that she hadn’t yet shared with her audience.

Your Custom Airtable Base

Being a systems girlie, Colie was thrilled with the way the Remix was organized in Airtable.

Because of the simple categorization, you can you quickly find content ideas categorized by offer or platform.

And Colie took it a step farther. She integrated the Remix into her existing content hub. This streamlined the process, making it easy to keep track of what had been posted and where to link it within her broader content strategy.

She was able to link all the new content she was making to ensure every post had a clear call-to-action. Whether it was pointing people to her blog, email sequence, or sales page, Airtable kept everything organized and connected, which saved her a ton of time.

Turning Ideas into Content

Colie actually changed her marketing strategy after booking the Remix and was still able to find value in the ideas.

She started by reviewing the suggestions and seeing what resonated with her current offers. We’d provided ideas for her VIP Day and template shop but she had decided to put a pause on selling her VIP Day and created a slew of new templates that she worked to sell using the content ideas originally for her VIP Day.

For some of the ideas, she already had content in the works and could blend her current ideas with the prompts I’d provided. The Remix gave her the nudge to finalize these pieces or approach them from a new angle.

Working alongside her blog writer, she was able to write and post the majority of the blog ideas provided and even whip up a few emails for her list.

Simplfying Content Creation

One of Colie’s biggest takeaways from the Remix was the simplicity it brought to her content creation process.

Before the Remix, she found herself staring at a blank page more often than she’d like. The Remix ideas were the perfect antidote to that creative block.

Instead of stressing over what to post next, she could simply dive into her content bank and pull out ideas that were already in alignment with her messaging.

And even though she pivoted her offer suite after booking the Remix, it still came in handy.

The Remix gave her the flexibility to reframe old content, so it fit the new offer and messaging. The beauty of repurposing content is that even if your offers change, the foundational content can still speak to your audience’s desires and pain points, with a few tweaks to the angle.

Some of Colie's Tangible and Intangible Results

The biggest intangible transformation Colie noticed after receiving her Remix was the change in her energy around content creation.

Instead of feeling overwhelmed by the content production process, she now feels empowered and efficient. She no longer needs to stress over what to post next, she simply taps into her Remix ideas and gets to work.

On the tangible side, Colie has already used many of the content ideas multiple times.

She shared that she’s currently using her Remix, a year after purchasing, for a five-email sequence to promote an upcoming talk she’s sharing.

She shared that the Remix ideas gave her a strong foundation to move forward, significantly reducing the time it would have taken to brainstorm and write an email sequence from scratch.

What Colie Had to Say on the Call

Some of my favourite quotes from our interview together:

Hiring Felly:

“When you hire somebody like Felly to really listen to your content with fresh eyes and fresh ears, they can really get the pieces that are going to make people stop the scroll or hit your CTA on your blog or your email or whatever that piece of content is. And so, you know, at the end of the remix, you have a hundred ideas. My question would be, how long is that hundred ideas going to last? And how much, you know, how much room, how much content creation can you really get out of a hundred ideas? Because I’m still working on mine.”

Content Flexibility:

“The Remix gives me the flexibility to reframe old content, so it fits the new offer and messaging. Even if your offers change, the foundational content can still speak to your audience’s desires and pain points, with a few tweaks to the angle.”

New Brain Space:

“I feel good about never having to figure out what kind of content there is because I feel like a lot of us spend a ton of brain space thinking about the content. So on days when I’m like, you know what, I haven’t posted about this in a while, what from my remix have I not shared? What piece? I basically need something to give me a spark. And so when I’m looking through the content, if one seems like, oh, that’s it, it makes me feel a lot better about creating the content. It doesn’t feel like such a time suck. And it, I mean, dare I say enjoyable, like I don’t dread making my content like I would if you added in the piece of actually like ideating the content idea first.”

Final Words from Colie

“If you are someone who likes to talk about your offers and you have the ability to create the content, you just don’t have the time to really think about the pieces that should be created, that is when the Remix is a really helpful tool for you. Because someone is listening to the way that you talk about your offers or your clients and students if you give her interviews. And she is able to pick out the ways that are unique and interesting that you yourself might not hear when you listen to your own content.”
